I’m so excited – I've just been told I’m going on a Christmas guided tour 'Cruise through the 'Winelands' of France' booked by my wonderful husband through TouringAndCruising.com.
Apparently I'll be cruising all through Christmas, tasting some wonderful wines along the way, and celebrating Christmas in style at a festive gala dinner hosted by the captain him or herself! The festive atmosphere will be one to beat on a beautiful crisp winter’s day sailing along sipping some gorgeous wine. I'm also hoping to savour some Gemütlichkeit, Glühwein and Lebkuchen, and can’t wait to be enthralled by the beautiful decorations adorning the magnificent ship.
We arrive at Bordeaux on the 23rd December (which will soon come round) and go on to board the MS Cyrano de Bergerac. Apparently we are all to meet the crew at a welcoming reception so we can get to now them and vice versa.
On the second day we arrive in a place called Médoc to enjoy some fabulous wine-tasting, including famous names such as Châteaux Laffitte-Rothschild, Latour and Mouton Rothschild.
Sailing the Garonne and Gironde Rivers on this relaxing Christmas cruise, and admiring the picturesque scenery and charming towns is my idea of heaven! The final day we arrive back in the delightful city of Bordeaux to discover and explore some of its wonderful highlights.
Basically, I can’t wait to spend my whole time relaxing and exploring, drinking and eating, and generally just having the time of my life on this very special Christmas treat - roll on December 23rd!
