Arrive Toronto (2 Nights)

 

Canada's favourite big-time city bids you a warm welcome and you'll have the day to ease into its laidback, friendly vibe before joining your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Reception this evening.

 

Day 2

Toronto Sightseeing and Niagara Falls

 

Discover the city's most inspiring sights on an orientation tour this morning. A true reflection of the multi-cultural Canada, Toronto is wonderfully diverse, filled to the brim with lively restaurants, stylish bars, and quirky museums. Switch the sidewalks for the spray of Niagara Falls, stepping aboard a cruise to the base of Horseshoe Falls, the largest of the three waterfalls.

 

Day 3

VIA Rail (3 Nights)

 

Embark on an iconic journey aboard VIA Rail's cross-country train, also known as "The Canadian". It won't take long to feel truly connected with life along the tracks, as you begin your journey across Canada's most spectacular terrain in sheer comfort and style. Day 4

Aboard the Canadian

 

"The Canadian" continues her journey along the country's ever-changing landscapes. Discover endless alpine forests pocketed with lakes within the peaceful cottage country of northern Ontario. Watch the sunset over the central prairies as you pass the spectacular snow-capped mountains and national parks of the Canadian Rockies.

 

Day 5

Aboard The Canadian

 

You'll be forgiven for wanting to stay on board, but tomorrow holds the promise of a new adventure filled with "pinch me" moments. With all the essentials taken care of on this last leg of your great Canadian journey, simply sit back and let the gentle motion of your VIA Rail train rock you to sleep as VIA Rail navigates Canada's untamed wilderness on your behalf.

 

Day 6

VIA Rail – Jasper (2 Nights)

 

We arrive in Jasper this evening and have some free time to explore the town, the gateway to an extraordinary array of natural landscapes. This pretty little alpine hub lies within picture-perfect surrounds, with the Canadian Rockies, glacier-fed lakes, forests and rivers just a stone's throw away.

 

Day 7

Jasper Sightseeing

 

Go from the iconic to the unexpected when you embark on a guided walk of Maligne Canyon. This narrow slot-like gorge is sculpted by an icy river flowing along its base, and is a true sight to behold. Enjoy a quiet moment to feel truly free in nature before returning to Maligne Lake for a lunch on its shores. This afternoon, you'll have an opportunity to cruise the waters of the lake to Spirit Island, the heart and soul of jasper National Park (in season).

 

Day 8

Jasper – Athabasca Glacier – Banff (2 Nights)

 

We crunch across the glistening icefield of the iconic Athabasca Glacier this morning, stepping aboard an Ice Explorer to see its icy carpet first-hand. Leaving this majestic glacier behind, we'll continue our scenic drive along Icefield Parkway, slicing through the heart of Banff and Jasper National Parks. Our final stop before continuing to Banff is the natural treasure you'll never forget-beautiful Lake Louise.

 

Day 9

Banff Sightseeing

 

We have a full day of sightseeing ahead in Banff National Park, Canada's oldest National Park. Keep a keen eye out for brown bears as you explore this rugged wilderness before meeting a Royal Canadian Mountie Local Specialist who will share his story about life in the 'force'.

 

Day 10

Banff – Vernon

 

A day of exquisite scenery awaits as we journey over Kicking Horse Pass, which straddles the Continental Divide of the Americas. You'll stop at Spiral Tunnels, which made the descent of this pass much safer after they were built at the turn of the 20th century. Then pass Mount Revelstoke National Park and journey through the vineyard and orchard country of Okanagan Valley, where you'll Connect With Locals at a family-owned winery for a memorable Be My Guest dinner and wine tasting.

 

Day 11

Vernon – Vancouver (2 Nights)

 

We wind our way through the beautiful wine country of British Columbia en route to Vancouver, one of the world's most livable cities. Delve into the heritage of the First Nations when you visit Stanley Park and see the totem poles that stand tall at Brockten Point. You'll have an evening at leisure to explore the city on your terms. Consider visiting the historic neighbourhoods of Chinatown and Gastown, the very heart around which modern-day Vancouver evolved.

 

Day 12

Vancouver Sightseeing

 

Your morning begins with a city tour of all The Icons and Hidden Gems revealed through the eyes of your Travel Director. You'll have an afternoon and leisure to continue your exploration or simply relax after your epic trip. This evening, we'll visit Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and enjoy a memorable Farewell Dinner with new friends against the spectacular backdrop of the West Coast rainforest and Capilano Canyon.

 

Day 13

Vancouver – Alaska Cruise (7 Nights)

 

Enjoy some free time until you are transferred to Canada Place where your cruise begins with the Inside Passage on the ms Volendam.

 

Day 14

Cruise the Inside Passage

 

With most of Southeast Alaska accessible only by boat or plane, cruise the Inside Passage for a unique view.

 

Day 15

Cruise Tracy Arm and Juneau

 

Arrive in Juneau where you can shop downtown, raft or flightsee.

 

Day 16

Skagway

 

Step into the town's past at the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park.

 

Day 17

Cruise Glacier Bay

 

From your ship, view pristine Glacier Bay National Park.

 

Day 18

Ketchikan

 

Visit the world's largest collection of standing totem poles or enjoy a variety of optionals.

 

Day 19

Cruise the Inside Passage

 

Today is a relaxing day as you cruise back to Vancouver.

Depart Vancouver

 

Sail into Vancouver Harbour this morning. After disembarking, take your transfer to Vancouver International Airport or to the hotel if you wish to extend your stay.
